Happier Hour: How to Spend Your Time for a Better, More Meaningful Life with Professor Cassie Holmes
Our most precious resource isn’t money—it’s time. We’re allotted just twenty-four hours a day, and we live in a culture that keeps us feeling rushed and like we never have enough. Since we can’t add more hours to the day, how can we optimally spend the time we do have and feel confident in our decisions and more fulfilled in our lives?
Based on her wildly popular MBA class at UCLA, Professor Cassie Holmes will share how to immediately improve your life by changing how you perceive and invest your time. She provides empirically based insights that will help you experience moments of joy, use your time more optimally by designing your schedule with purpose—all so that you can look back on your days with satisfaction and your life without regret.
Through her groundbreaking research, Cassie will teach you how small changes can have an enormous impact, helping you feel less overwhelmed, more present, and happier—things that money can’t buy. It all starts by transforming just one hour into a happier hour. BONUS! The first 80 registrants who also attend the event will receive Professor Holmes' best selling book, Happier Hour, as a gift from WIT@UCSF and UCSF Enterprise IT.

Critical Dialogue about the Woman Life Freedom Movement: a Special Session of the Tea House Series
Facilitated by: Dr. Yalda Shahram from the WomanLifeFreedom at UCSF group
Join us for tea and baklava to listen, share, and learn from Iranian and Iranian-American colleagues and form a community with a sense of belonging. The Tea House Series is an interprofessional multidisciplinary educational program framed by critical consciousness pedagogy. This special session will focus on the #WomanLifeFreedom movement and how it has impacted the UCSF community in different ways. In the Tea House we strive to be a welcoming space where participants agree to have dialogue with respect and humility, listening, and voicing their thoughts, even when staying silent is more comfortable. We define respect and humility in dialogue, the intersectionality of our social identities and how we move through our worlds, and the experiences that have led to our collective trauma. Together, by forming community at this critical time, we can support and show solidarity with the brave women in Iran leading the feminist revolution against patriarchy.
