Beatrice's Bio

I have been a hospital assistant at UCSF for 12 years in the Radiology department, supporting various modalities like MRI, CT (Computed Tomography), Neuro Interventional, and the nursing holding room. Being there for patients when they need support and care is something I am truly passionate about, and it has motivated me to return to school to become an MRI technologist. This new path will allow me to continue my journey in the medical field and provide essential support to those in need. I am excited to share that I will be finishing my MRI program by the end of the year! I am incredibly thankful for the encouragement and motivation I have received from Karl Frerichs, the MRI supervisor, and for the support from management, who have been so flexible with my work schedule. Their flexibility has made it much easier for me to balance school and work. I feel honored to work alongside such incredible professionals!

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I like to spend time with my kids Eduardo, MJ, and Brianna. Whether it is attending a baseball game, trying out new restaurants, or enjoying a movie night at home. I also love to travel and try to go someplace new once a year.

What is your ideal weather?

I grew up in San Francisco and then moved to Daly City, where it is always foggy! I prefer cold weather since I am used to it. The ideal weather for me is somewhere in the 60s.

If you could go anywhere for a day, where would you go?

If I could go anywhere for a day, it would be Tokyo Disneyland. A goal of mine is to visit all the Disney parks around the world, and so far, I have gone to Disney World in Florida, Disneyland in Anaheim, and Disneyland Paris.

Can you tell us about a significant role model or mentor in your life?

My mother is my role model. As a single parent, she worked tirelessly to support my siblings and me. Even now, despite facing health problems, she continues to work hard and remains a pillar of strength in my life. Her dedication and resilience have shown me the true meaning of a strong work ethic and have inspired me to strive for my best in everything I do.

What advice would you give yourself early on in your career?

Do not be so hard on yourself, there is not a strict timeline for achieving your goals.
