Laughter is contagious and has a powerful and immediate effect on our mind, body and spirit. Our bodies can’t tell the difference between real or simulated laughter. This class involves deep breathing, stretching, clapping, and laughter exercises.
Here’s what you can expect in this class:
• Increase in blood flow and oxygen to all the major organs
• Enhance endorphin levels which make us feel uplifted and reduce pain
• Stimulate immune, digestive, and cardiac systems
• Reduce stress levels
• Relax, strengthen, and lengthen the muscles with stretching

Come and learn some tools of how to calm down/decrease anxiety in the moment and at the end of the day. The session will be led by Kate Danziger, a former RN of fifteen years on the pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant unit, who is launching a yoga and breathwork program for our patients and caregivers this spring.

This session will be led by Dr. Chantal Dubuisson-Myllymaki who has both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctorate Degree in Higher and Post-Secondary Education. Dr. Dubuisson-Myllymaki currently teaches behavioral health courses at Kaiser Permanente designed to build emotional and physical resilience for managing patient symptoms. Specific classes she instructs include: Couples Communication, Understanding Anxiety, Managing Depression, Managing Anger, Assertiveness & Self-Esteem, Pathways to Emotional Wellness, Mind-Body Job Medicine for Job Stress, and Stress Reduction.
